Get the tax packet ready for your accountant

Drop your ledger's transaction export. Your browser checks the books, totals every payee against the 1099 threshold and works the quarterly estimate - free, before you sign in, and nothing is uploaded. Then a paid run writes the packet: the books verdict, the 1099 prep list and the estimate summary, each held to the browser's arithmetic. US federal. Prepared for review by your accountant - not tax advice.

Each example has a saved model run for all three lanes, so you can see the whole page for free.

Estimated payments and last year (for the quarterly estimate)

A Transaction List by Vendor (QuickBooks), bills and payments by contact (Xero), or any CSV, tab or pipe table. Needed: date, payee, account (category) and amount. Optional, found by header: Type, Payment method, W-9 / Tax ID, 1099. SSN-shaped values are removed in your browser and never sent.

Drop a .csv or .tsv export, or a pack .json saved from this page, or
Paste the ledger to price the run.

What this does, and what it does not

Books first: a tax number computed off unreconciled books is a number you might send to the IRS. The prescan counts what is uncategorized and works out how far it could move the estimate at your combined marginal rate, and looks for empty months (a missing bank feed), double postings, and rows dated outside the year or after the close.

The 1099 view totals every payee for the year and tests services, rent and unclassified payments against the year's threshold (USD 600 for 2025; USD 2,000 for payments made after 2025), with a near-threshold band at two thirds of it. Likely duplicates - "Bob" and "Robert", an email and a name - are flagged for you to confirm, never merged. Corporate names stay on the list with a note: the exemption is your accountant's call, and payments to attorneys are reportable regardless.

The estimate annualises year-to-date net profit, applies self-employment tax (92.35% x 15.3%, the Social Security part capped at the year's wage base), deducts half of it, applies the federal rate you choose (22% by default) and spreads what is left over the quarters still ahead. A quarter whose due date passed with nothing paid is its own catch-up line. State tax, QBI, retirement contributions and other deductions are not applied - they are listed for your accountant.

It knows nothing you did not paste: no ledger connection, no IRS lookup. 2025 figures come from the source skill's reference; 2026 figures are as published for 2026 - confirm them.
